01 MAY 2026

A NCA responder received a WhatsApp message from a resident reporting that an unknown individual was inside his yard. The responder immediately advised the resident to remain vigilant. Upon arrival on scene, in coordination with Alarm Pro Security, the suspect had already been apprehended. The individual initially provided a false name; however, he was recognized as a known suspect involved in housebreaking incidents. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had gathered various items within the yard, including pieces of wire and other materials, which had been thrown over the wall—presumably with the intention of removing them for resale. The suspect was later found inside an old vehicle on the property, where he claimed to have been sleeping for most of the day. This statement was deemed to be false. The suspect was subsequently handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS). The homeowner is in the process of opening a case of theft from a motor vehicle and trespassing. It is anticipated that the suspect will be formally processed and detained.

NCA extends its sincere appreciation to all role players for their swift response, effective coordination, and professional cooperation, which contributed to the successful resolution of this incident.
