Responders received a call from Alarm Pro Security requesting assistance at a local veterinary clinic following a report of a suspected attempted burglary. Responders reacted immediately and, upon arrival on scene, confirmed that individuals were inside the premises. One suspect fled the scene on foot into nearby bushes along the river. A second suspect was located inside the building while attempting to exit and was promptly apprehended. Upon arrest, the suspect indicated that a third suspect was hiding in the roof. Responders entered the roof space and successfully located and removed the third suspect from the ceiling area. Both suspects were restrained and secured on scene. The South African Police Service (SAPS) was contacted and responded to the scene, where after the suspects were handed over and transported for further processing. The incident has been classified as a confirmed burglary, and the property owner will be opening a formal case. A quantity of suspected stolen items was recovered from the suspects. The situation was successfully contained and resolved.
