The call came through from Fire Department who witnessed a head-on collision. At around 17:37 the first ambulance arrived, a quick assessment was carried out to identify the number of patients and also to see who was critically, seriously injured. On arrival of the ambulance, paramedics noticed that there were 14 patients at the scene, and were called for further help from other services. Within several minutes the next ambulances was on scene, helped to begin treating the majority of patients.
The collision was between a taxi and a light vehicle, which allegedly drove across a stop street without hitting brakes. The taxi landed on its roof where 6 patients subsequently crawled out of the taxi, before emergency services arrived.
There was 1 critical patient (due to injuries), 4 seriously injured and the rest all just bumps and scratches.
All patients were taken to hospitals by ambulance
