NCA SUCCESS REPORT
LP RESPONSE TEAM
25/09/2025

A report was received regarding an abandoned Mercedes-Benz, registration HBB424L, parked at the corner of Grasmere and Bayman Streets in Polokwane. The vehicle appeared deserted, with the rear window open.

17:20 – Responder activated.
17:35 – Responder arrived on scene. Conducted checks on the registration number and licence disc; both corresponded and were valid.

The vehicle was not listed as stolen or missing. A bystander claimed to know the owner, and the responder proceeded to the alleged residence. No adult answered the door; only children were present and indicated someone would come. After an extended wait, the responder returned to the vehicle, which remained unchanged.

The car was still running, with the window open, the key in the ignition, and the gear selector in “Drive”. The fuel warning light was on.

After some time, the owner approached on foot carrying a fuel container. Following a brief discussion, it was confirmed that the vehicle had simply run out of fuel and was left in the condition found. The responder ensured the matter was resolved and then cleared the scene.

NCA extends its appreciation to all role players for their cooperation and assistance.
