Reaction members received a call requesting assistance regarding an abandoned vehicle in Schneider Street, Elandspoort, and Pretoria West. Reaction members arrived on scene and located a white Toyota Hilux pickup truck with the front passenger door open. Inside a nearby abandoned house, members found a young male who identified himself as the driver of the vehicle. Reaction members contacted SAPS and provided all relevant information from the scene. Reaction members were instructed by SAPS to transport the vehicle to the police station, where the owner would proceed with further action. A case was opened for the theft of tools and equipment with an estimated value of approximately R30, 000. Reaction members departed from SAPS Pretoria West.
