Received a call informing me that there are a armed robbery in progress at Mark park Vereeniging CBD. I responded to the above mentioned address and followed up info received which led me to Vereeniging taxi rank were the public were busy beating the suspect. I managed to detain the suspect and were able to get him medical attention, I was informed by members of the public that the suspect tossed a fire arm into a business premises while trying to flee the crime scene. The firearm were safe guarded till saps arrived. 1 firearm and 1 suspect were handed over to Vereeniging SAPS. Units standing down.
