NCA SUCCESS REPORT
FS RESPONSE TEAM
14 JUNE 2026
NCA members received a call from a business located in the industrial area of Bothaville regarding a possible deceased person on the premises. According to information received, the deceased’s brother had travelled to Johannesburg earlier that morning with another individual. Upon returning to the premises, he discovered a vehicle with its doors standing open and found the male lying against a fence. Believing the individual to be deceased, assistance was immediately requested. NCA members responded without delay and, upon arrival, conducted an assessment of the scene. It was evident that the male had already succumbed prior to their arrival. The South African Police Service (SAPS) had already been activated and was on route to the scene. NCA members secured and cordoned off the area to preserve potential evidence and prevent interference from members of the public. Upon the arrival of SAPS, the scene was formally handed over for further investigation. Forensic Services subsequently arrived and commenced their investigation. NCA members remained on scene to assist with crowd control and scene security until all responsibilities had been transferred to the relevant authorities. The scene was officially handed over to SAPS and Forensic Services. NCA members stood down after the successful completion of their duties.
NCA extends its sincere appreciation to the South African Police Service members, Forensic Services personnel, and all other role players for their cooperation, professionalism, and assistance, which contributed to the effective management of this incident.
