Response members responded to a call for urgent assistance at Rooms Hesthly Street, Danville, regarding two male suspects allegedly in possession of a black assault-type firearm. SAPS, with five vehicles, and one Metro Police vehicle were already on scene, and the area was secured. No suspects matching the description were located. A suspicious silver VW Polo was found with its doors open, and further information indicated that the driver, an illegal foreign national, had fled the scene. NCA Response members, together with CMS Crime Prevention, remained on scene and recovered a black plastic toy firearm matching the complainant’s description. The item was booked in at SAPS Pretoria West (SAP 13). Members subsequently departed the scene.
