Responders were informed of a man digging up a cable near Goldfields Logistics in Bothaville. Members of the public who reported the incident intervened, causing the suspects to flee the scene before responders arrived.
The area was cordoned off, and observation posts were established; however, the suspects were not located. The cable had indeed been dug up, and the local municipality was notified of the situation. Responders subsequently stood down.
