A distress call was received regarding an attempted burglary at Lataban Street, Danville. Upon arrival, the NCA response member found a male suspect who had attempted to break into the home and was being held by the community. The homeowner, a member of SAPS, had handcuffed the suspect behind his back. The community members were calmly shaking hands, and the NCA response member decided it was best to call the police station for immediate assistance. SAPS arrived on scene, removed the suspect, who was soaking wet, and instructed the complainant to file a report at the station. At 21:20, SAPS withdrew from the scene, followed by the response member at 21:21.
