Responder received information about stolen TVs in a burglary. Response members were activated to the local police station to confirm the information, which was then positively confirmed. The detective sergeant accompanied the team from the police station to the address received from the informant.
Upon arrival at the scene, a broken TV was indeed found. Secondary information was received about a second address in the informal settlement. The team was activated to that location.
Upon arrival at the second scene, the detective sergeant entered the residence and retrieved a TV that was hidden behind a chair and wrapped in a black cloth. It was confirmed with the complainant that the make and all details of the TV matched.
The detective sergeant instructed the response members to apprehend the suspect, who was known to them. Response members located the suspect at the taxi rank. The suspect voluntarily went with the responders.
The suspect was taken to the police station as requested by the detective sergeant. Both the suspect and the evidence were handed over and booked in at the police station. Response members stood down.
