NCA SUCCESS REPORT
FS RESPONSE TEAM
DATE: 28/09/2025

Responders were dispatched to a farm in the Bothaville district after the homeowner returned from church and discovered both the house and storeroom doors open. A bakkie (pickup truck) and a tractor were missing from the yard.

The bakkie was identified, with information indicating it was stranded in the crop field. Upon arrival, responders found that Rural Safety members were already on site. NCA responders assisted by cordoning off the area.

Footprints were located, indicating the suspect had fled on foot. Responders and Rural Safety coordinated efforts, moving to a lookout point while tracking the footprints. The tracks led into a wooded area approximately 200 meters from the lookout point. Rural Safety identified the suspect in the bush, and the cordon was tightened. The suspect was subsequently arrested by Rural Safety.

SAPS arrived on scene, and the scene was handed over for further investigation. NCA responders cleared and stood down.

OUTCOME:
Suspect arrested. Stolen vehicles identified and secured. Scene handed over to SAPS. Responders stood down.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
NCA extends its gratitude to Rural Safety, SAPS, and all role players for their prompt and coordinated response.
