A bus accident occurred on the R21/R24 junction at Kempton Park. With confirmation of multiple injuries, emergency services responded quickly. When emergency services arrived at the scene it was absolute chaos. Paramedics, fire brigades and Metro police were overwhelmed with patients. Everyone had their hands full. More ambulances slowly made their way to the scene due to peak time traffic.
At the scene, a total of 45 patients were treated within the first 20 min of the accident. The number then shifted to 84 patients as more patients began to get off the bus. Unfortunately there were 12 more patients under the bus, unfortunately all 12 of those patients died as a result of their injuries.
The accident is still under investigation, no further information available.
NCA would like to thank all the role players present for their participation.
