NCA SUCCESS REPORT
GP RESPONSE TEAM
27 MAY 2026
NCA members received a call for assistance in Elandspoort, Pretoria West. Upon arrival on scene, members found a City of Tshwane bus completely immobilised in a muddy pothole, with both rear wheels stuck. The bus driver had already informed the depot, and recovery services had been dispatched. The vehicle was positioned on a dangerous bend in the road, posing a significant risk to passing traffic. After assessing the situation, NCA members implemented traffic control measures and rerouted vehicles, including other buses, to ensure public safety. A recovery vehicle arrived on scene and successfully extracted the bus from the ditch without any further damage. The roadway was cleared, and all services subsequently stood down and departed the scene.
NCA extends its sincere appreciation to all role players for their swift response, effective coordination, and professional cooperation, ensuring efficient and effective incident management.
