On 25/12/2024, the NCA GP Response Team received a call for backup from a Security Firm that had discovered a cable thief in the act during a patrol of the area. Upon arrival, responders found the suspect actively digging up the cable from the ground. The suspect was detained on the spot.
SAPS was notified and, upon their arrival, the suspect and the scene were handed over. The suspect was taken into custody, and NCA responders withdrew from the scene.
NCA would like to thank all involved parties for their cooperation and swift response.
