The responder received a call requesting assistance with the message, “We require assistance.” The responder activated SAPS via the Namola platform and proceeded to the scene at Brits Lapa, Vastfontein North, Pretoria. Upon arrival, it was established that a bakkie had left the roadway and came to a stop on the right-hand side near Brits Lapa. Three male suspects and one female suspect fled the scene on foot. Members of the local community immediately intervened, and shortly thereafter all four suspects were apprehended. The suspects were handed over to SAPS. During questioning, it was revealed that the vehicle had been hijacked at the Rooiwal turn-off. Responders accompanied SAPS to the location indicated by the suspects, where the victim was located. The owner was subsequently transported to hospital for medical treatment of his injuries. Further questioning revealed that all four suspects admitted to working together as a group involved in robbery and theft.
