01:00 – Responders notified SAPS that they had taken up their observation posts. Movement was detected in the operational area.

Shortly after 03:00, external factors escalated. One suspect ran down the street, passing directly by a lookout post. A shot was fired. Responders held their positions to avoid crossfire.

A second shot was fired, prompting responders to inform SAPS.

03:06 – SAPS arrived on scene to provide assistance. One successful arrest was made in connection with the two suspects who had fired at each other. The second suspect fled into the field.

The field was searched using night vision, and two individuals were spotted; however, after the arrest, they disappeared.

SAPS departed the scene, and responders continued to monitor the area for approximately another 30 minutes before standing down.
