The NCA received a mandate from the mother of 18-year-old Nina van Eeden, who was reported missing since 02:00 on 01/01/2025. Nina had last been seen at her father’s residence in Kathu, Northern Cape. Contact was made with the individual who saw her last. He confirmed that Nina had closed the door behind him after he left, and they have not had any further communication.
When the father woke up in the morning, he discovered that Nina was missing. The front door was locked, and the key was placed on the windowsill. Immediate suspicions of foul play arose.
The NCA activated an investigator in Kathu, who began following up on leads and questioning key individuals.
At 16:03, Nina was found safe and unharmed. The NCA Missing Persons Task Team stood down after confirming her well-being with her mother.
