NCA SUCCESS REPORT
GP RESPONSE TEAM
Date: 15/01/2025
Time: 05:33

On January 15, 2025, the GP Response Team received an urgent call from the principal of Booysens Primary School, who requested an ambulance, believing that the gatekeeper had been assaulted.

At 05:33, the NCA Responder activated the panic button, and Namola assisted. An ambulance was dispatched to the school.

By 05:55, the ambulance arrived on the scene. Unfortunately, there were no signs of life; rigor mortis had already set in, and the body was cold to the touch, with blood beginning to clot around him.

At 06:10, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were notified (Reference: 100234), and the South African Police Service (SAPS) was informed (Reference: 2762509). SAPS arrived at 06:20 to begin taking witness statements.

By 06:40, additional emergency services personnel arrived and conducted an examination of the body, officially declaring the individual deceased. We awaited the arrival of forensics, and trauma volunteers were called to assist the family and colleagues.

Forensics later arrived on the scene. A police officer indicated that the victim appeared to have sustained multiple stab wounds: four to the head, three to the left knee, and four to the right buttock/upper leg. The victim had no mobile phone on him, but did possess a bank card, a spar card, a Clicks card, an ID, and approximately R30 in loose change.

One eyewitness reported observing part of the incident. He mentioned that his dog had been barking around 01:20, prompting him to shine a flashlight through the window, where he saw five men fleeing the scene. However, he did not take any further action and returned to bed.

Upon investigation, it was noted that the school’s palisade fence had been broken open in the left corner of the parking area, and footprints were found in the garden. The scene was cleared after the family had the opportunity to say their goodbyes. The victim’s ID and personal items were handed over to the family, and SAPS officially opened a murder case.

NCA would like to extend our gratitude to all individuals involved for their cooperation and assistance during this tragic incident.
