05 JUNE 2026

NCA members received an urgent request for assistance from the administrator of an ambulance response group regarding a pedestrian motor vehicle accident in Pretoria West. Upon arrival at the scene, NCA members found a six-year-old male child who had sustained severe facial and head injuries, as well as a suspected fracture to his right arm. The child had reportedly lost consciousness as a result of the incident. A grey Kia Rio involved in the accident remained on scene. Emergency medical services and Metro Police were dispatched immediately to provide assistance. The following emergency services responded to the incident: Medi Edge Ambulance, Guardian Ambulance, Gauteng Ambulance A0367T, Metro Police Motorcycle Unit and NCA Members. Emergency medical personnel assessed and stabilised the patient on scene. Due to the severity of the injuries, the child was classified as a Priority 1 (P1) patient and was transported by Medi Edge Ambulance to Kalafong Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Once all necessary procedures had been completed and the patient had been transported, the scene was cleared and all responding services stood down.

NCA extends its sincere appreciation to the emergency medical personnel, Metro Police members, and all role players for their swift response, effective coordination, and professional cooperation, which contributed to the successful handling of this incident.
