NCA SUCCESS REPORT
GP RESPONSE TEAM
06/01/2026
A response member received an urgent call for assistance at a scene in Van den Berg Street, Elandspoort. Upon arrival on scene, the member observed a white VW Polo with both front doors and the left rear door open. A firearm-like object was found on the ground next to the vehicle door, and a second firearm-like object was located on the back seat, placed on top of a black carry bag. At that stage, no driver or passengers were present. A second vehicle, a silver Toyota Corolla, was positioned behind the VW Polo and showed visible damage. The reaction member secured the scene using red-and-white danger tape and requested SAPS assistance. A private security company later arrived on scene with two suspects who were allegedly involved in an armed house robbery in the immediate area and were linked to the incident. It was reported that three suspects were involved, with one suspect having fled the scene. SAPS Pretoria West (PW 16) arrived on scene together with the Atteridgeville Crime Prevention Unit. SAPS Forensic Services attended the scene and confirmed that both firearms were plastic replicas resembling 9mm handguns. The SAPS Vehicle Identification Unit (SAP 13) was also present. Once all investigations were concluded, the scene was cleared and all services departed.
NCA extends its appreciation to all role players for their prompt response and cooperation.
