Mr. Mike Bolhuis is often requested to discuss bullying with pupils, teachers, and parents at various schools in our country. This is an ever increasing phenomenon at schools and among the younger generation, who are unaware of the power and impact of social media and cyberbullying, physical bullying, or emotional bullying. This behaviour extends to all ages and situations and although one would not expect it in the workplace, it does frequently happen here. The severity of the impact of bullying in the workplace cannot be underestimated. The new Code of Good Practice on the Prevention and Elimination of Harassment in the Workplace took effect on 18 March 2022. It places responsibility and a duty on employers to play their part in preventing bullying in the workplace.
