Facebook has been besieged with the video footage of the abusive Jaco Swart. The public’s outrage and indignation have been remarkable. But what is essential to realize is that this is not an isolated event – South African women and children are brutally abused, raped, and killed every day of every year! Violence and abuse seem to have permeated the essence of our country’s culture. It has to be stopped and it has to be eradicated.
