Modus operandi
Syndicates recruit women from neighbouring countries.
These syndicates take all documentation from the women: their IDdocuments and passports, as well as all their electronic devices such as
cell phones.
The women are mostly uneducated and cannot speak English or any
other indigenous language.
They are taken in groups of up to 4 women to various Malls, where they
are sent into the major supermarkets to steal only items such as baby
formula, baby nappies, beauty products, etc.
