NCA SUCCESS REPORT
FS RESPONSE TEAM
28 February 2026

Response members were contacted by workers reporting the alleged rape of a 5-year-old female child. It was reported that both parents had travelled to town to do their monthly shopping and had left the child in the care of another individual. Upon their return, the child informed them of the alleged incident. Emergency medical services and the South African Police Service (SAPS) were immediately requested to attend the scene. Upon arrival, ambulance personnel advised that no medical intervention could be performed before SAPS had attended the scene. SAPS subsequently arrived and transported the child and her mother to the Edenville Police Station, where a formal statement was to be taken. Arrangements were also made for the child to undergo a medical examination by a doctor as part of the ongoing investigation process.

NCA extends its sincere appreciation to all role players for their prompt response, effective coordination, and professional cooperation, which contributed to the effective handling of this sensitive and serious incident.
