A member of the public reported reckless driving while traveling on the Wakkerstroom/Volksrust road. They observed a truck veering into oncoming traffic and forcing vehicles off the road. NCA Responders promptly headed toward Wakkerstroom and spotted the truck as it entered Volksrust. Following the truck, they witnessed its continued erratic driving and successfully pulled it over at the Engen/Wimpy area.
The two occupants attempted to flee but were apprehended. Open liquor bottles were discovered inside the truck, and both suspects appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The police and traffic department were contacted, and the suspects were taken to Volksrust SAPS with police escort. The truck was impounded and taken to SAP13.
