NCA Responders were contacted by a representative from BG Scrap Yard regarding a suspicious male who had delivered copper cable to the premises. The cable matched the description of items previously reported stolen in a case opened the prior week, involving theft from truck trailers. The complainant from the previous case was contacted and confirmed that additional theft had occurred. The complainant then proceeded to BG Scrap Yard, where he positively identified the copper cable as his property. Responders attended the scene, and upon instruction, the copper was confiscated from the individual. The situation was explained to the suspect on site. The recovered copper was subsequently booked in at Bothaville Police Station under the relevant case number (106/2026). No arrests were made at this stage. Responders remain on standby, as the complainant appears to be a repeated target, with incidents reportedly occurring on a near-daily basis. Further action will be taken as required.
