NCA SUCCESS REPORT
GP RESPONSE TEAM
Date: 03/01/2025
Time: 00:00
On the night of January 3, 2025, around midnight, the NCA received reports of a search underway for a 7-year-old girl allegedly abducted by two suspects, as stated by eyewitnesses.
The dispatcher established communication with the incident commander on-site. It was reported that approximately 40 to 50 individuals were present. K9 units were unable to pick up a scent due to the high foot traffic in the area. A drone was deployed but yielded no results. The dispatcher coordinated with the incident commander to confirm that no additional personnel would be activated, as the scene was already overcrowded. The NCA remained on standby for any further assistance required.
At 03:00, the dispatcher contacted the on-scene personnel again. Still, no findings had emerged. Notably, there had been no reports of a missing child from the area, nor were any parents seeking their child. We considered a door-to-door search for the parents, but the vast area and accessibility issues led us to abandon this approach. The dispatcher remained on standby.
As daylight broke, the search resumed, and eyewitnesses were questioned once more, particularly local children playing in the street. According to reports, the girl was last seen walking along the road before being seized by the two suspects and pulled into a field. Additional responders joined the search efforts, and drones were deployed again, followed by a helicopter later in the day. The search was ultimately called off due to the absence of a missing person report and lack of leads. The NCA subsequently withdrew from the scene.
The NCA extends its gratitude to all participants for their efforts and cooperation during this operation.
