NCA SUCCESS REPORT
GP RESPONSE TEAM
09 February 2026
Reaction members joined other security companies and SAPS Public Order Policing (POP) units at Gamora, Hjalmer Street, Claremont, Pretoria West, in response to a service delivery protest. While pursuing protesters, reaction members observed a brown dog attacking several individuals before turning on a female SAPS constable. The constable sustained a bite wound to her right leg, just below the knee. Despite the injury, she continued with her duties in support of the operation. The SAPS POP shift commander requested reaction members to assist in contacting ER24 for medical support. ER24 Response Vehicle R14 and Ambulance M194 arrived on scene shortly thereafter. The patient was stabilised on site and transported to Akasia Hospital as a Priority 3 (P3) patient. Reaction members remained on scene until operations were concluded and thereafter cleared the area.
NCA extends its sincere appreciation to all role players for their prompt response, effective coordination, and excellent cooperation, which contributed to the successful management of this incident.
