A livestock theft incident involving three cattle was reported in Grootvlei East. One of the stolen cattle was recovered at the scene.
It is suspected that five suspects entered the property from Tambotie by cutting through wires. They moved towards the cattle kraal, which is a building structure, and forcibly broke a brick to open the door. The suspects chased the cattle out and secured the premises afterward.
The cattle were chased all the way to Tambotie, where it is believed that two of them were slaughtered. A piece of meat was transferred over Tambotie and placed on corrugated iron to be cut into smaller portions.
Sector patrols, SAPS and the Livestock Theft Unit responded to the scene. A case number will be provided once it is assigned. The responder withdrew from the scene once the situation was under control.
NCA would like to thank all involved role players for their prompt and professional participation.
