Responders received a call from BG Scrap regarding an individual who arrived at the premises in possession of a substantial copper cable. Responders immediately notified SAPS. The individual alleged that he had obtained the cable from a local farmer. Responders identified and contacted the relevant landowner, who confirmed that no copper had been issued to anyone. The landowner subsequently proceeded to SAPS to open a formal case.
