A responder received a call from BG Scrap reporting that a suspect had fled after being confronted regarding copper found in his possession. The BG Scrap security officer pursued the suspect, apprehended him, and escorted him back to the premises.
Upon arrival, the responder found the suspect in possession of approximately 6.2 kg of Twisted Pair Telkom copper cable. The individual, identified as a foreign national, was unable to produce any form of identification. SAPS was notified, and the suspect was subsequently handed over to SAPS members and transported to the police station for further processing.
