GP RESPONSE TEAM
Date: 25/04/2025
Time: 22:05
A member of the public contacted the response team after observing two males in dark clothing walking from mielieland toward an open field off the R59 motorway’s off-ramp to the M61 (Ring Road). The individuals were seen carrying a large white bag.
The caller reported that when he stopped to investigate, the suspects dropped the bag and fled between trees along the R59.
Responded quickly to the scene and called for assistance via NCA Response and the Duncanville Neighbourhood Watch Group.
The responder was first on scene and located a large white bag filled with mielies in the field.
The SSG (Security Without Borders) K9 High Risk Unit arrived shortly after to assist; their dogs searched the field and surrounding trees.
Additional NCA Response members, neighborhood watch, SSG, and CB security personnel participated in the search, collectively combing the area.
An NCA responder discovered six more large bags near the M61 in the field, which appeared ready to be loaded onto a vehicle. The bags were collected by SSG and taken to their office.
Further searches were conducted for any suspicious vehicles in the vicinity, but no cases or suspects were identified.
The complainant declined to pursue any formal case.
NCA would like to thank all role players involved for their swift and coordinated response.
