NCA SUCCESS REPORT
ANTI-HIJACKING UNIT
DATE: 14/09/2025
At approximately 03:23, the NCA Anti-Hijacking Unit received a WhatsApp alert regarding a Toyota Fortuner that had been stolen in Frankfort and was reportedly en route to Vereeniging. Reaction members of SSG were also notified.
One responder spotted the vehicle and initiated a pursuit but lost it around Houtkop Road. The responder then proceeded to the area where the vehicle was last seen. After a short search, the vehicle was located, at which point three suspects exited the vehicle and fled into an open field. Despite deploying a drone to locate the suspects, they were not apprehended.
Shortly thereafter, SAPS arrived on scene, assisted by Tracker personnel. The scene was handed over to SAPS for further investigation.
