NCA SUCCESS REPORT
ANTI-HIJACKING UNIT
14/09/2025
At approximately 03:23, a WhatsApp alert was received on the NCA Anti-Hijacking group regarding a Toyota Fortuner that had been stolen in Frankfort and was reportedly travelling towards the Vereeniging area. Reaction members from SSG were informed, and one of their members spotted the vehicle. He initiated a pursuit but was unable to keep up and lost visual contact near Houtkop Road.
Responders proceeded to the location where the vehicle was last seen. After a brief search of the area, the vehicle was located. Three suspects exited the vehicle and fled into a nearby field. Despite deploying a drone to search the area, the suspects could not be traced.
Shortly thereafter, SAPS arrived on scene along with Tracker personnel. The scene was handed over to SAPS.
