NCA SUCCESS REPORT
MP RESPONSE TEAM
Date: 27/06/2025
Time: 18:41
At approximately 18:41, the NCA MP Response Team received a report regarding a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in the same location in Volksrust for three consecutive days.
An NCA responder was dispatched to the scene to investigate further.
Upon arrival, the following observations were made:
-
The vehicle’s ignition had been forcibly removed.
-
Multiple empty liquor bottles were found on the back of the pickup.
-
The vehicle could be started using a screwdriver.
While on scene, a passing motorist stopped and informed the responder that he knew the vehicle owner and where the individual resided.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) was notified and arrived shortly thereafter. Based on initial assessment, SAPS suspects the vehicle may be linked to criminal activity in the area. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been purchased from a previous owner but was not yet registered under the new owner’s name.
An official SAPS investigation is ongoing. NCA responders have since withdrawn from the scene.
