Incident Summary: Successful Operation Against Cable Theft Suspects
On 21 June 2025, the NCA Free State Response Team received public intelligence regarding individuals with knowledge of suspects involved in cable theft activities in Bothaville.
Operation Details:

Information was forwarded to the South African Police Service (SAPS), who requested the NCA Responders to accompany them during the operation.

A search was conducted at a premises in Khotsong, resulting in the identification of one suspect.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the police station.

It is believed that a total of seven individuals is involved in the cable theft syndicate.

Investigation is ongoing, with one arrest confirmed and six suspects still at large.
