NCA Responders were called to assist a victim hiding in nearby bushes after an alleged attack.

Upon arrival, the individual explained that he had disembarked from a taxi at the corner of R101 and Jakaranda Streets, en route to his home. A vehicle stopped beside him, and the driver offered to take him the rest of the way. Once inside the vehicle, the driver produced a firearm and demanded the victim’s belongings.

The victim managed to overpower the suspect, disarmed him, and fled the scene with the firearm. During the struggle, the magazine was left behind in the suspect’s vehicle. The victim hid in the bushes and called for help.

Upon arrival, the responder secured the firearm and placed it safely in the response vehicle. SAPS was contacted and arrived on scene shortly afterward. The victim’s statement was taken, and the firearm was handed over for fingerprint analysis.

At the time of this report, no case number has been issued.

The NCA thanks all role players for their prompt and professional assistance.
